Our homeschool co-op for September was a study of the Olympics. They studied the history of the Olympics including the symbolism of the rings, the torch and the colors. Then, the kids went outside to try their hand at some of the Olympic events. Below is a picture of Abigail throwing the javelin (broomstick.)
They also had a craft time where they made t-shirts to wear on field-trips. The pink shirt on the left is Abigail's. She did a great job.
Abigail ran in an individual event and also a relay. This was the most she had ever run and was sore the next day but had a blast. She was upset that she did not win the race and said she would go home and practice racing the dog because he was very fast.
