Our Snow Queen

This was our creation this morning before the snow turned into rain. It was just the girls this morning, so we made a very girly snow girl, complete with boa.

Week in Review--Nov. 14

In history we are studying the ancient Greeks through the end of the year. We are reading a lot of Greek myths and about the adventures of Odysseus in a children's version of the Odyssey. Below is Abigail's Trojan horse and narration about the Trojan War.
So far, her favorite story about Odysseus is about the cyclops. He looks a little like the incredible Hulk.

In literature, we just finished reading Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. She lives in an upside down house and has the cure for every disease known to children like fighter-quarreler-itis. This is a drawing and narration of the book.

This is her copywork for the week. She did a really good job!

Moley

One afternoon the cat chased a tiny mole from our neighbor's yard into ours. Abigail discovered it when she was trying to get to the cat. Of course, we had to capture it and observe. It was still long enough for me to catch it. (It was scared to death.) It quickly recovered and I had to make a video because it would not be still long enough for a photo. Abigail named it Moley. It was released later that night.

Career Day

Veritas had career day in October. Abigail decided that she wanted to dress up like an artist. What a great thing for a 6 year old to be!

Friends

When we got married a year ago, the we had 3 cats and John had a dog. The dog hated cats. We would have to keep them away from each other constantly. When the cats were outside, they were hiding. Two of the cats ran away within 2 months (I wonder why.) Princess stayed around and things have changed quite a lot in a year. Very cute!
