Our back yard is a haven for green anoles. They are everywhere, to the delight of the cat who loves to play with them. Lately, I have noticed that they will climb up to the ceiling of the porch. When they do this, they turn almost white. They also turn beige on carpet which is where we found one this evening. It was about an inch long. I have never screamed so loud trying to catch that thing. (Where is the cat when you need her?) We finally caught him and put him outside, minus his tail, which he lost when we caught him. Oops!
We caught him in a ziplock and got a good look at him. Abigail wanted to keep him as a pet, but of course, that is not the best idea. We looked at him a few minutes and let him go. This was not the first time we have seen one in the house, but the last time, the cat brought it in. Exciting night!
